Fred was a very dear friend with the strongest love for his music and family. The kindest man most of us had ever met. His love for the steel guitar was like no one else I've ever known. A great player and teacher of the instrument. I as many, are torn by his death and miss him dearly. God speed Fred. Love you brother.

Fred was a great musician and one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. When I first started playing steel, I used to go watch him play at Turk Lake north of Greenville. He will be sorely missed. RIP Fred.
