my friend passes away
Rick Garvue, my old friend, died at 66 after a long fight with pancreatic cancer..I met Rick back in late 80's in Zagreb,Croatia, where he was visiting with his wife Carol, who is professor of eastern European history, and was in Zagreb doing some job related research... after I posted an ad in newspapers looking for a guitar player for our country band Rick responded, and the rest was history, played many live shows, radio shows etc...we had a great time...after returning to US Rick and Carol invited me to come visit their new home in Nebraska in 1997...Rick was a wonderful musician and artist, always smiling, Rick was one of the guys you'd think they'll live to be 100 years old...one of my best friends, if not the best friend I ever had...this has not been a good year for me, at all

Very sorry to hear Damir. He looks so healthy. I am always shocked when a really healthy person like your friend gets knocked down, seemingly randomly, by the scourge of cancer. It just really sucks. Please take care Damir and support his wife, as I know you will, during this tragic time.

Damir, sorry about your loss of a good friend, I know very well how you must feel, we're losing way too many. In my case its coming too quickly. ( age 76) Lonnie
