How do I delete bookmarks?

Post by George Kimery »

I have a laptop Windows XP. I have a bunch of bookmarks that I want to remove, but can't figure out how to do it. I have always had Mac's and I am in unfamiliar territory with a Windows system.

Should be easy to do. I clicked on the Star windows button and typed in the name of one of the bookmarks and hit delete, but it didn't delete it.

Thanks for any help.

This is how it looks on my desktop with Firefox.
In either of the two circled places I pull down the bookmarks, right click on the one I want and select delete. That's it.

It would be a big help to know what browser you use to view web pages you bookmark. Each brand has different means of accessing and deleting them.

I've never owned a Mac, but this is about the browser, not the OS. I would think the OS wouldn't affect this action.

Left-click on the Customize and Control Icon, the triple-line icon at the top right of your browser window. Bookmarks will be listed in the dropdown that opens. Hover over Bookmarks, and they will open in another window. Deleting them is easy; right click and select Delete. There's also a "Bookmark Manager" option in that window if you want to open them in a full Window to do more stuff.

Thanks, Dave. I was able to find Bookmark Manager, then select a bookmark and under the organize tab, I pulled down to delete and clicked on it. Problem solved.
