Luther Hughes
Another of the Alabama Boys has left us. Luther Hughes passed away last night in Tuscaloosa; Cletus Hopkins and Alabama steeler Burt Ballard both called me with the terribly, totally unexpected news. I just went down and had a very good time with Luther and some of the gang in Prattsville, Luther played very good bass and certainly was a proponent of pedal steel; he inspired me to write an instrumental called Hughes Creek and put it on a CD.
God bless Jean and all his family; he will be sorely missed.
