Re-posting someones quote

How do you re-post someone's quote? I see a white background when somebody quotes what another person has said but not sure how it's done. I hope this makes since.

Just click the "quote" icon in the upper right corner of the post you'd like to quote. Then underneath you'll be able to add your own text.

And be aware of the fact that you don't have to quote the entire post. You're free to edit out anything that's not relevant to your reply, which simplifies things for everyone.
