Gary Wayne Smith RIP, Brother of Jack Smith
Gary Smith played piano for Barbara Mandrell, Ricky Skaggs and Dolly
died last Friday Dec 5th. His brother was Jack Smith, a great steel player and friend.
Gary "Bud" Smith, November 5, 1959 - December 1, 2014.
He was a passionate and spirited musician. Music was not just on the page for him, but he became that music. It was in his soul and he wholeheartedly embraced whatever genre he was playing. He was not just a bluegrass piano player, even though "Country Boy" will echo in ears and hearts for generations to come.
As brilliant as he was as a musician, he was even more loved as a family man.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Darla Smith; children, Austin (Amanda) Smith, Christian Smith, Madelyn Smith, Kelly (Steven) Scott, Dennis (Brittan) Smith; grandchildren, Harper Anne, Ellie Kate, Gavin Elise; sister, Norma Jean (Pastor Ernie) Spears; a host of other family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the River of Life Assembly of God, 596 Sam Ridley Parkway West, Smyrna, TN and also on Tuesday, December 9, from 6 - 7 p.m. at the church. A Celebration of his Life will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, with Rev. Dr. Johnny Minick officiating. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/tennes ... nP6It.dpuf
