I'm sure that's Mandy Barnett and I think it's Hal Rugg on steel. I have always remembered that title as a Carl Smith song...could be wrong !!

Yes, I saw that Carl Smith also did that song. I am sure you are right that his version was earlier.

Yes, that is Mandy Barnett w/Hal Rugg on steel, from her album "I've Got A Right To Cry". Hal Rugg and Buddy Emmons are the steel players on the album.
