Post by JERRY THURMOND »

RIP
Ray was a great song writer an singer, he loved the steel guitar an was a regular at many local steel guitar shows in Mo. He was very active in music an even in his illness he still was playing right up until his passing. Most of all he was a good friend, prayers for his family an friends.

I am so sorry to hear about Ray. So glad we got to meet him and hear him sing. He was a fine Ray Price style singer. We will be praying for his family in the difficult days ahead.

Hi Everyone,

This comes as a shock. I knew Ray was having illness for sometime but never the less it is still a shock for us.

Ray was a great singer and a great guy! Well, he and I go back a long way. It was a honor to have called him friend.

Ray loved The LORD and he's singing with Jesus and the others now!

We send our Prayers for his family and many friends!

Ray was like a 2nd dad to me. When I was brought to MO and the " lake area" by the great Gary "Butch" Biggs, Ray was one of the first truly great singers I got to work with. His voice was incredible!! Ray and I became great friends and stayed that way for 30 plus years right up til the end. In fact, he was planning to come up here to Indiana iust a week ago to play some music with me. Thank you Jerry Thurmond for making those trips to Indiana possible and for the shows we did there in MO. Ray had a heart as big as the outdoors and a voice to match. He turned me on to "real" country music. Ray even came to St. Louis to watch me play on the main stage at the convention... This while he was batteling cancer. He was such a great man and will be sorely missed.

Take the time to introduce someone young to music... and play a few songs with someone old.
