Bobbe Seymour RIP.

I have known and been friends with Bobbe Seymour for many years, we were at a show in Ga. "The Ole Clinton Opry" back in 2004.
Bobbe asked me if he could play me Steel. I said of course you can, so here he is playing my Steel & having fun.
Bobbe will surely be missed Rest-in-Peace my friend.

My condolences to Bobbe's family and many friends. He was everyone's friend. On every occasion I met him, or spoke to him on the phone, he always seemed like an old friend. His influence in the world of the steel guitar will always be remembered.

So sorry to hear this news. My first time walking into Bobbee's store turned into four of the most memorable hours. He sold me my first console steel. He was indeed larger than life. He was a true friend to every steeler whether pro or amateur and he is irreplaceable. RIP.

Sadden to hear our Steel community has lost a driving force and a fine man. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bobbe but from the many condolences I know "he was a keeper"

So sorry to hear about Bobbye, he was a true outstanding personality in the steel guitar world and also country music. Never was around him that he didn't take the time to chat with you. He will be missed by all.

Already posted on his Facebook page, but I am saddened by the loss of Bobbe Seymour, whom I considered a friend. My sympathies go out not only to his family and staff at Steel Guitar Nashville, but also to all members of our Forum and other steel player who knew him.

You are missed old friend... ;-(

This is so sad. I first met Bobbe in 1983, he was so kind to me and showed me all I know about Push Pull guitars. He will be sorely missed. RIP Bobbe.

We've lost another great one.

Bobbe and I never met face to face, but we talked on the phone and email a lot. I considered him a friend, as well as a steel guitar brother.

Countless steel players passed through Bobbe's store in Nashville, and his Bobbe's Tips newsletter has been chocked full of useful insights for many years. The depth of his experience is second to none in the steel guitar world - he did it all.

Rest in Peace, Bobbe, and know that we all appreciate the time you spent with us in this world. God bless.

Such a terrible loss for all of the steel world. Definitely a style all his own, both as a person and player.

I first met Bobbe in 1999, and I got my very first steel, an Emmons S-10 from Steel Guitar Nashville, in addition to my GFI Ultra D-10. I never will forget walking through Steel Guitar Nashville, seeing some great Emmons, Sho-Bud, and GFI steels-I felt like a kid in a candy store, seeing all those wonderful steel guitars. RIP Bobbe, You will be missed

Another legend in the business gone. I was lucky enough to visit his store several times and it seems like I always went home with more than I went in there for as Bobbe was always throwing something else in on our deals. RIP Bobbe.

I was so heartbroken to hear of Bobbe's passing.Bobbe was a great inspiration to me and to many others. I went to his store back in 2009 and waited for them to open one morning and they called Bobbe and got him out of bed and he came strait to the store and we talked and played steel for over half of the day. We had a great time.RIP Bobbe, you'll be missed very much. Prayer's and condolence to the family, staff and all of Bobbe's friends.

This is very sad news. Bobbe was more than a legend. I first met Bobbe when I was playing in Printer's Alley in Nashville, and he was also playing there. Bobbe sold the instruction courses Doug Jernigan and I produced for over 24 years. Bobbe also sold my volume pedals from the very start. Bobbe always said this about my volume pedals: "The Hilton volume pedal is the most important invention that has happened to the steel guitar in the last 50 years". Bobbe liked to kid around, but I can assure you he was one of the most honest people I have ever dealt with. I remember when Bobbe met my wife. Bobbe said--"Oh Keith you have married above yourself" That was classic Bobbe. Bobbe could have been a success at any business, but he chose steel gutiar. In the world of steel guitar he was more than just a success, he was a REAL legend. Bobbe--you will be missed!
