Burritos take on an old classic..

Post by Bob Carlucci »

Never heard this version before, and judging from the fact that Gib is with them, I would say it was recorded sometime in the mid or late 80's.. Pete plays some killer honky tonk steel on this one... enjoy... bob

I would guess the 1976 date posted with the video would be right. Sneaky left the Burritos around '81 as did Gene Parsons. This sounds like the same version with Joel Scott Hill, Skip Batton, Gene Parsons, Sneaky and Gib

You are correct.. I thought it was the "reformed for the 7th time Burritos".. However the Burritos 7.0 did not have Gib, I checked...
I liked ALL the incarnations, but there were so many you need a program, guidebook, and a historian!...
I recall them playing at a club I used to play a lot, around 1980, and Gib was with them.. I thought he was around longer.. My mistake... bob

When we opened for them back in '75, there was Pete along with Chris Hillman, Rick Roberts, Gib Gilbeau,
and I'm not sure who the drummer was at the time.
I got a nice "up close and personal" view of Pete's old Fender 400 when I was onstage before they started their set.
He was playing through a Showman head and a closed back Fender cabinet.
