The singer sounds like Jeannie Kendall, but not quite. And the steel player sounds like John Hughey, but not quite because I don't hear John's signature shimmer.
For the steel player, I'll guess Sonny Garrish.

That's Lola Jean Dillon singing...she wrote the song...I think it's Jim Vest on steel...a great country record!

Yes Steve I agree with Steve. Lola Jean and L.E. White, with the great Jim Vest. Another good cut from that record is "when the tingle becomes a chill" I think Jim does sound a lot like John Hughey, or maybe it's the other way around.

I worked with Lola Jean and L.E.in the studio a time or two and live a time or two,so I was familiar with the song...never heard this cut,but Jim has been a hero of mine since my first night in Nashville, when I happened into a club in Printer's Alley and heard him and his great band backing Johnny Paycheck...WOW!
He's a real soulful player like John Hughey...

Yes, that is Lola Jean Dillon, from her rare album "Sings The Songs She Wrote". Good album, with Jim Vest all over it. :)

Thanks for the info, Steve!

Kind Regards, Walter

Steve - I would like to have been there that night also. But, you know , you also have people getting pretty excited when they hear you play...... especially me!

I got to know L.E. and Lola Jean when they used to come to Knoxville a lot. It was always interesting to me that country music came so natural for them.
