Tompall Glaser appreciation thread

Post by Gary Hoetker »

I am deeply saddened about his passing. The word "Great" is one of the most often used adjectives today to describe so-so talent. "Great" certainly applies to Tompall. There isn't the warmth of voice like his anywhere that I can recall and we won't see its like again. Tompall and the Glaser Brothers trio are the greatest singing group in any style of music yet they are largely unknown today. That's a travesty. How they can not be included in the CM HOF is a travesty, as well.

Here's a link and testament to one of his and their incredible performances "Maria Consuela Arroyo"

Incredible indeed !!

RIP Tompall. Not to be forgotten.

Saw them in the 70's at the Western Place in Dallas. What an evening it was. The only other group,IMO, that equaled them would be the Son's of the Pioneer's during the rein with Ken Curtis and Lloyd Perryman. I have always admired great harmony and those to groups had it all.

Another great singing trio that was broken up by the huge Ego of one and too many stars on the bandstand syndrome. Checkout Jimmy Glaser singing
" If I could only dance with you " on u tube
