"Jazzin Around" Bishop Ronnie P. Hall

Post by Bishop Ronnie P Hall »

Hello My Fellow Steelers!!!, :D
Well, what can I say. Here we go just one more time, with my road of experimentation, and composition. This one definitely has a "Jazz" flavor to it. I shall leave the judgement of it as such.
Enjoy!

Just a suggestion, but on the mix, increase the volume of the rhythm and bass, because this number, more than most, plays the lead off against the rhythm. It makes me want to add some parts of my own. Otherwise, another great number, up to the standard we expect from The Bishop of the Steel. 8)

(That's another title I just gave you.) ;-)

WOW! Brother Ronnie, that is really super fantastic.
I always enjoy the way you do those fast slides and
you never miss a single note once. If I ever tried that,
my bar would go across the room and break something.
I've been working on DVD's for the last 2 week's so I
just got to listen to this. You know I always look for
your new songs, they always brightens my day. :D :D :D

Hey Alan! :D(Brookes)
Now Al, you know I always appreciate your input and suggestions, they are always helpful to this old man. I have been trying to upgrade a lot of the recording equiptment I have to handle a lot of my audio balance problems, so there should a definite improvement in quality, and balance soon, so stay with me, it`s got to get better. And my dear old friend, anytime you want to jump in there and add some parts of yours to mine, you have my permissison at all times, after all "thats what friends are for!" ;-) You know, I`ve been called a lot of things,( I have to be careful here, this is a family forum) But, never "The Bishop of the Steel!" I think I could be in for a lot of trouble, if that ever went public!!!
Much affection my ole friend. Be Blessed!

Hey Carl! :D :D (Dr.Smooth/Lucky) Kilmer
Fast Slides! Me?? If I did`nt play with a "Stevens bar", I would be crawling around looking under the bed, the couch, in the closet, and everywhere else, believe me. My hands just wont let me hold a "bullet bar". I`ve got a couple of them still around, though, they make certain kinds of paperweights for me as well.
Also, I`m glad to hear of your project DVDs,perhaps you will be sharing a few teasers to aide in sales? At any rate, this is one fan who will be listening for the results. May your efforts be blessed....

Hiya Wally! :D (Taylor)
Thanks my friend for your encouragement. Flavor a song? Me? Naaaw! I just do the best that I can. And every now and then, it somehow comes out pretty good. At least all of the cats stopped gathering at the kitchen door, and the dogs stopped howling in the neighborhood, So, I guess, I`m doing alright. :D  Thanks again my friend, stay in touch,,,

Hey Ronnie, that is a wonderful piece of music. Somehow it reminds me of a certain type of music played in South African townships during the seventies and eighties. Especially the backing track.

And those fast slides are too fast for the camera!
Maybe set the video frame rate a bit higher, so we can see what you are playing!
I really enjoy what you are doing, please keep it up!

Ronnie, if you have a means of e-mailing me the individual tracks, I'll make that a project. From YouTube I can only get the stereo mix as it is. I have the tools to put eight separate .mp3 files back together and remix them, adding extra instruments. It's not as good as a live duet, but it will do until the day I can come over and visit with you and your talented friends in person. :D

Hi Peter!!! :D (den Hartogh)
Always glad to hear from you! A certain kind of South African township sound? It is possible, that there might be a similarity in the rhythm and melody patterns, hmmm, I hadn`t thought of that, but anything is possible??? :D On those slides, I`ve tried so many ways of clarifying the camera`s settings to get a better picture, but the type of camera that I use at this time, is some what limited, as to the resetting the aspect etc., so I`ll have to continue ask my viewers to be tolerant, just a little while longer, until I can fit what I need into my budget, to upgrade the equiptment to do those things that need to be done. In the meantime, I will continue to do what I can, to clearly define the videos, so that they can see what I do, to slide as I play. So keep watching my dearest of friends,It will get better soon. And thanks for the advisement, it does mean a lot to me. Be blessed!!!

Hi Al! :D (Brookes)
You know that is an excellent idea! I`ll look into that suggestion, and see what can be done. We might start a whole new way of sharing musical ideas and concepts over the "net" that had`nt been done before!(at least I dont think it has, ) :) Yes, I definitely will look into this one. My ole friend, you are an innovator, that is for sure! ;-)Be blessed!
