Different cameras won't post a pic of Forum?

Post by Len Amaral »

Posting a pic with my 10 Year old Sony Mavica mini disk is OK on the forum. However, my new Cannon with a 16 GB SD scandisk will not post but is OK in email, etc.

Any insight is appreciated,

Lenny

Hey Len,
Have you tried formatting the card in your Canon. I use Canons also and seems like I had the same trouble until I actually formatted the card in the camera.

Regards,
Bob :)

Hey Bob:

You may be correct on formatting the SD card as I have to format the mini disk in my Sony.

Time to push buttons and figure it out.

Thanks,

Lenny

If it posts pictures on email, or any other program except the forum, it may be that the picture file size is too large. I don't think the disc needs formatting as it does store pictures that you are taking. What would re-formatting it do, except wipe out all the pictures you have on it?

I agree with Richard. A jpeg is a jpeg, no matter what camera you take it with. Your new camera probably uses a lot more pixels than your old one, so the images could be too large for the Forum. I'm assuming that you download your pictures onto your hard disk and then upload to the Forum from your computer, NOT direct from the camera to the Forum.

Just resize it to 100x100 pixels. There is free software if you don't have any.

The internet does not have access to your desktop.

Len,
The difference is the resolution of the cameras, the old camera was a low resolution device and the new camera is high resolution. Nice you do it once you will have no problem.
