Bob has told me more than once that the forum does not have spell check. That is your browser doing the spell checking. Look at the browser you are using on the Vista machine. I assume you are using Inferiornet Exploder (Internet Explorer). There may be a setting that needs to be changed.
Carter D10 8p/7k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup, Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112, Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open G slide and regular G tuning guitar) .

Playing for 55 years and still counting.

Use Firefox. Or Chrome. Or Pale Moon.

I had a day job where I was the mod for their forum, which ran on this same software, and I had to tweak the spell check once in a while. Is it turned off?

In Explorer I can't find where to turn on spell check as you type like it is in Firefox. It just doesn't seem to offer any kind of spell check.
