Lack of feeling and soul in BIAB real PSG?

Post by Stuart Legg »

Maybe it's just not possible to get feeling and soul out real PSG samples in BIAB and only certain instruments like real guitar can come across with feeling and soul.
Here is PSG and then guitar back to back played IN biab with the same rhythm track. What do you think?

I think it doesn't make for a 'groove' or 'pocket'
when you put a 'triplet feel' steel track over a
'straight feel' rhythm track.
Just because you can manipulate biab to do this
doesn't mean that it is 'the norm' or practical
in 'real life' playing.

Your point is well taken and my point exactly.
Sure it was an unfair comparison but necessarily exaggerating the point for clarification in general.
My statement was not meant as condemnation of Steel or Player only of BIAB in general as it relates to Steel Guitar.
There are not enough choices of Steel Guitar compared to Guitar in BIAB to cover my needs in my BIAB compositions.
I also question the sincerity and effort on the part of BIAB regarding Steel Guitar compared the Guitar.
What Iโ€™m trying to say here is that I seem to find guitar parts for most any song I compose in BIAB but Steel Guitar parts not so much so.

The machine has no feeling. The machine has no soul. Use a real steel guitarist.
