Sony Mavica disk camera or suggestion?
OK...Don't laugh but I have a SONY Mavica camera that uses a mini disk and the auto feature is pretty good. Maybe 10 years old but and is heavy but compared to my last SONY camera that used floppy disks this one meets my needs.
So I put a disk in and there were actually 2 disks stuck together and I closed the cover. Now sometimes I get a "disk error message and sometimes it works OK. Anny suggestions? I just learned how to post pics on the forum with this camera.

Len - Are you saying that there are two disks in the camera and the lid is stuck shut?
I don't know this camera but look real close at it. Is there possibly a tiny hole to stick in a wire paper clip?
If you look at most computers, there is a tiny hole on the cd or dvd drive in case the door is stuck closed. Maybe your camera has a similar tiny hole.

Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not.

Hi Bud:
I am saying I put wheta I thought was one disk and therre weree actually two stuck together. I got the disks out but now the camera will read disk error when I put a new disk in. I may have to try and adjust the hinge on the door of the camera a bit to get it to work. Old technology but it did work nice.

Just chiming in to say that yes, folks, there really were cameras with floppy disks. I just retired my old Mavica because my computer's floppy drive died making the camera useless. Drag--I totally dug the camera and, more importantly, I knew how to use it. My new Olympus is smaller than my hand (way too small!) and has more features than I want to know about. Wish I could go back to the Mav.

Actually, that USB rig is what I've got for a floppy reader since my latest computer does not have a floppy port. I'd replace it except that the camera has been getting a little erratic with discs too--error messages about 10% of the time. Seems to be telling me its about had it. I've got a really cool Casio sampler that is dead for the same reason. 3.5" floppies belong in a museum, I guess.

Camera fixed!!!!
Someone suggested I manipulate the bezel that seems to be spring loaded where the reading eye is located. I did this several times and it worked. What I also learned was you can use standard mini disks that have to be formated but the camera functions much better with the Mavica disk for the 200 and 300 series camera.
Now, if I can oly get this key board from sticking and messing up the letters I type.
Time for a new keyboard I guess?
Thanks,
Lenny
