Want to feel better about your playing?
Howdy folkses,
So, the local university is having some vaguely defined contest, looking for local talent to submit MP3s with a possible cash prize.
I spent four hours making this recording, just under the deadline for submission. I've only been playing for a few months, I lack a volume pedal, and I guarantee I'm out of tune.
However, I learned a lot making this recording tonight, and trying to accompany my own warbling on a new instrument, and hope it will offer you some amusement in these grim times...
Song written by Jay Rummel, Missoula in the 70s. II'll link the original in the morning.

Thanks Kevin!
I feel slightly less critical about this track after some sleep. But not much
.
Here'e a link to the original track, as well as the 'A' side. (Also shows some of his unique printwork)

I like to play this song as a tribute to my favorite town in the world. Missoula, Montana!

Thanks for the kind words,
the reverb at the end was also a way to make my slightly frustrated noodling at the end of the song a little less abrasive.
I generally find too many effects distracting in the recording process, and just slowly turned up the reverb in the last 30 seconds or so.
This is the begining of a series of steel/yodeling experiments, with the end goal to be the forums first simultaneous Yodeler/Steeler.
If I'm not the first, that would probably be the most pleasant surprise I can think of.

Hey Aaron,
I love your voice. Bet you haven't been singin' just a few months, right? So the steel will keep on getting better, too. You have talent, and it will cross over to your steel. Keep up the good work!
