Payments by paypal

Post by jolynyk »

I have a fiddle for sale.. I live in Saskatchewan.. A guy from Toronto wants to buy it & pay by PayPal, & said he will be shipping it to Toronto.. He also said he has an agent that will be picking it up, & will pay by PayPal.. If I get the money & transfer it to my bank from PayPal, is it safe..

I've never had a problem. There have been those that have, but I don't know the circumstances.

It can take 3 or 4 days after you tell paypal to transfer it to your bank account before it shows up.

If you are unsure, take the paypal payment but don't ship it until the money is in your bank account. Let the buyer know the conditions so they don't get antsy if you don't ship it right away.

Yeah, obviously a Scam. I get them occasionally. I also get Scam e-bay "notice" that I didn't pay for an item I won in auction. I just delete them.

The emails you received that spoof PayPal should be forwarded to spoof@paypal.com. If you forward them as attachments, the headers will be preserved, revealing the IP address of the first sender that can be traced. These scams usually originate in Nigeria, or Ghana.

Read my sticky post at the top of this forum, about how to display headers for reporting.

Speaking of paypal, I reached a point where they said they were checking everyone and changing things around. They gave me the last three no's of a credit card I was using for me to fill in the rest. I could in no wise get to anything in paypal
until I did this.

After that I needed a whole new password and the other verification things. Finally they gave me a code I was to repeat when they called me, which they did. For some reason that did not work.

Now they are sending me by mail another code I must give them, I assume it's by internet, for them to verify I am who I am.

That's too bad Ken. Seems like you're going through a lot.. I personally never had any trouble with them

Wiz, I forwarded everything to Spoof@paypal & also to Western Union.. They both replied with a Thank You note & are following up on it..
