RIP Dennis Hicks
Most of you didn't know Dennis, he played drums at some of our jams. He found out he had cancer less than a year ago and he went to be with the Lord early this morning. My heart and prayers go out to his family. He loved to play and really enjoyed himself at our jams and he will be missed.

Tony, I knew Dennis and his entire family who performed around Kingsport and the Tri-state area for many years. I played Steel for Bob and Gladys Hicks for several years at the GEM Theater. Dennis played Drums and brother Ricky played Bass.
I am truly sorry to know Dennis passed away. He was a good friend.
May he rest in peace.

RIP Dennis Hicks
So sad to hear of his passing. Dennis played drums from the time he was big enough to sit at them. All the pickers in this area knew him well and saw the passion he had for music. I had the pleasure of playing a few shows with him. He had a kind and gentle manner. Rest in peace my friend.

Dennis Hicks, RIP
I just came from Dillow Taylor funeral home in Jonesborough. I was not allowed to view Dennis. At the request of the family, they are only letting family members view. The visitation is tomorrow, Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and the funeral follows. It will be a closed casket visitation and funeral. Intermit will follow on Friday at 11 AM at Liberty Free Will Baptist church.
Dennis played drums in out group Yesterday's Country for over 3 years, so I got to know him quite well. He was very dependable and always did a great job on drums.
Another good one has left us. May his soul rest in peace. He will be missed.

Very sad news, I met and talked to Dennis a couple of times. He was a very delightful person to talk to. I ask Dennis about his Drum Sticks, they were like straw, he told me he could play with expression and not be so loud that you didn't hear the rest of the music. He was such a tastefull drummer, I told him getting ready to bed down the stock from the looks of the pile of straw around hem when he got through playing. I saw him a little later going back to the band stand, I said ,,,where you going, he said to bed down some stock. What a nice guy !!
