Take these chains from my heart - PedalSteel & B-Bender

Post by Jordan Bissonnette »

Hey Guys !

I just joined steel guitar forum about 5 minutes ago... new to the whole thing and new to pedal-steel playing too. I love it though! I've been playing about 6 months now. Check out my youtube page with my pedal-steel video for Take these chains from my heart.

Looking forward to learning all the ins and outs!

Hi Jordan, your doing fine on both the steel and guitar. :)
I like what your doing on both of them. Determination and
lots of practice will get you where you want to be and you
will meet your goal before you know it. Wecome to the forum.

Welcome to the Forum Jordan.... Sounds like you are well on your way.. If you're not doing it already, when you feel comfortable, try to get with some other Pickers, and learn to coordinate your efforts with theirs, with regard to Fills, breaks, etc....Hang with it, and I feel that you'll do just fine... As you will see, there is a Vast amount of Info, and Advice here on the Forum, so feel free to ask......Best of Luck.

George...

You get some impressive tone in the high register out of that old maverick! You know what they say-it's all in the hands.

Thanks! Part of me wanted to replace the old pickup since it hums and is noisy... but part of me loves the old sound and grit you get from it. Gives us a different more vintage twangy sound.. So I think I'll just live with the background noises and hums! adds character haha

Definitely agree, there...especially if you're going to be covering Hank Williams tunes lol

I like that. I have a Fender Excelsior that gives me similar "ambiance" on the bright channel. I love those old Hank and Ernest Tubb recordings.
I like the way you arranged the lines. I always feel its best to keep the melody strong, or as H. Williams said, "Keep it vanilla, boys". I'm new to this thing, too. Your sounding real good.
