How to test ram?

Can ram be tested? If so what program would you use?

After you create the bootable media with Memtest, you boot to it and let it run for an hour or so. It takes a long time to run all of the tests just one time through.

I usually let the testing run for a couple of hours, which will reveal errors that develop after the case heats up inside. That is how real world RAM problems usually develop; from heat, over time.
