Jody Sanders

Post by Jody Cameron »

The Great Architect of the Universe called our friend and brother Jody Sanders home last night. My heart is heavy as I post this, but I know that Jody is at peace. He battled pancreatic cancer for quite a while, and now he is free of pain, and playing steel guitar in heaven.

Services will be hels on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 I believe at the Magnolia Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas, but I don't have anymore details at this time. I will post them at a later time, as I get them.

I know he loved all of you "steel brothers" (and sisters) on the forum. I know he would say to you all "see ya down the road".

This is a big lost to the world as, well as the steel guitar world. Country Gentlemen like Jody are a dieing breed. A Gentleman, always met a freind and not a stranger. You were his best friend from the time you met him. I don't think, I ever in 36 years of knowing him heard him say a negetive about anyone.

I remember meeting Jody in '76 @ Clyde’s Music in Lake Jackson, he then and every since then has been the epitome of the Texas Gentleman, I don't always reach it, but I try to be somewhat like Jody in that respect. He gave me my first lessons and I will always cherish that.

Jody never would tell me good bye, he would always say "See ya down the road"
Well Jody, I hope to See ya down the Road.
I Love you and gonna miss you

Sad news indeed. My thoughts go out to Jody's family and his many friends.

Our community is really getting hit hard lately. I concur, when is it going to stop?

Jody Sanders like so many players before him loved to express his musical talents on the instrument he loved, the Steel Guitar. God speed Jody. My condolences to his family.

Boy , this is a tough one . I'm proud to have called
him friend . Here in Tulsa , we dubbed him "The Voice"
for his wonderful emcee work and his ability to work
with all the players so well . We'll miss you for a
