It is absolutly amazing what he can do in any music he plays! Nothing anybody could play to equal what he played on this!
My biggest hero right beside my daddy! Love this man and the way only he could play!

Nice solo performance by Tommy. He was looking very serious during his solo and giving his utmost concentration to the piece he was playing. 8)

and TW just feels it.. Keb Mo is awesome .

Did you notice the Peavey amp stands that are big ports.. I think I saw one in Vienna one year at a steel show.. really make you amp sound big.

Janis,

The rack has 5 Webb heads in it I believe and the all are wired to one speaker.
At least has the way it was when I played the Ryman.

TW will have to tell ya but I don't think he is running through any thing other tan the amp.

Played the Opry here last bight but when I got home had to watch this another 30times at least!
Awesome!

Gee!! If its 5 heads, then how are the tubes placed inside. do each head have its own tubes or does the tubes have a separate "tube section" (the webb was a tube amp right?)

havent seen a webb like this before.

Jani - I think Webb amps are solid state. Don't believe there are any tubes.

Loved this clip - As always, Tommy's playing is just delicious. Thanks for posting.

TW can tell you about the Webb configuration, but I believe it was something he had the folks at Webb design so that ea. player can set his own eq. and not have to change it between acts on an Opry show.

Yes, his playing is as good as it gets and he just unbelievably keeps getting better all the time if that's possible. He has a great musical mind to keep coming up with new sounds and great moves to fit the situation.

Hey Jerry, I think you are right but TW would really have to answer that.

I know when I played there where 4or5 Webb heads and I set mine just like Tommy's!
I know it was smokin through that thing. I loved it.

Now Tommy could play a wash board with plastic string on it, through a coffee can and still sound awesome!

Most of all it's his phrasing and emotion in what he plays. It can't be duplicated even though a lot have tried. That big heart of his is what's driving his playing! He is an awesome guy!

Tommy is a amazing steelplayer indeed.
He can play Lloyd green on the E9 and Buddy Emmons on the C6. But the importents thing is that he has a own style and own sound.

Love your playing Tommy.
