What a great video!!! Thats Corky Owens on steel, great player and super nice guy. Didn't know that Clinton Gregory was playing with him. I got to visit with Gene and Corky many times when I worked at Renfro Valley. Gene is one of the nicest people you will ever meet too.

You introduced me to Corky as we were going into the restaurant at Renfro if you recall. You asked him how Gene was doing. He said " I guess pretty good. He just ate half of a chicken." Nice guy. Hope to see you again soon.

Corky Owens had his own style and I think really added a lot to Gene's sound just as Tiny did years ago. Not to take away from anyone else who had that spot; those two were exceptional!
We're good Greg thanks for asking. I hope your healthy as well! Greg

You Tube Gene Watson's greatest hits

Post by Charles Curtis »

I was just listening to Gene on this site on You Tube and I believe that the steeler is Tiny Olson. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong. Fantastic, IMO.

The "You Tube" site that I'm refering to is; "Gene Watson's Greatest Hits", not this one. Read the subject line.
