I use the Roland Sonic Cell to hear/record the BIAB MIDI instruments as well as the Real Audio instruments.
It is a box that is both an Audio Interface and a multitimbral MIDI synth with tons of Instruments.
You can even plug in 2 extra interface-cards with specialized instrument selections.
