Wow! Paul that's really cool pickin' considering your first time on television, you didn't appear to be nervous. I guess the hair thing was of that era, we were all young and foolish in those days, and to be frank with you, I miss those days. Always a pleasure to hear you play, and you were really sweet and hot last night on PBS for the President. p.s. I'm the creator of the Facebook TIme Jumpers site. Andy Jeff and Ranger Doug are members, it would be cool if you joined. RC

Start somewhere.....

Post by Glenn Uhler »

Well, Paul, we all had to start somewhere. At least your hair was its natural color. When I started, everyone was trying to look like one of the British bands that were coming to the US. Our manager told a couple of us to bleach our hair blonde, so we would look more like Peter Noone & Herman's Hermits.

At least you sounded great. Our band was not so good.

Paul,

At least we had hair back then. I've lost most of mine. I noticed the guitar player had his hand in a cast???

Great playing as usual!

Geeze Paul...great pickin' as usual and a white guitar  I remember years ago reading one of Tom Bradshaw's "Steel Guitarist" magazines (I still have it).. where there was an interview with Buddy Emmons, and he mentioned a "15 year old monster player" he'd seen the previous night in Detroit...you of course :) BTW I remember years ago purchasing a cassette player of you teaching "Styles" of players. You actually hummed the tune of "Oh Lonesome me" .. I was waiting for you to sing it :D

Re hair...up to 30 years ago, I had a full Afro haircut..now look at me  ..Actually I shave it daily, as that look is quite popular in UK.. that's my excuse ;-)

Paul, your right about the hair do! I think that I liked you better with the "Curly Afro" in the early 80's.
But how about the horn rim glass's at the white house in DC?? Almost didn't recognize you.
Only good friends can make jokes with each other and still laugh about it. See you in Dallas!

I remember seeing that the first time aired. Just killed me. I also remember thinking, I have a lot to learn and I should be practicing. I still think that ,when I hear Paul play.
Wow, time flew by!
Love and peace to all this holiday season.

There was a white D-10 MSA at Berringer's music in 1974 that I wanted pretty bad but I couldn't swing the $1500.

Nice hair. :)
