Tuning For BIAB ?

What is the best tuning to use when playing steel along with BIAB. I never seem to be in tune with songs in BIAB. I imagine BIAB is tuned to straight up 440.

I guess I could try a straight up 440 on steel, but I thought I would ask before I started re-tuning and changing everything on my steel.

It would seem like a real hassle to have to re-tune every time I play with BIAB

I use a tempered tuning with the E's at 440.
Never had a problem being out of tune with BIAB.

What is your Biab using to make the sounds?
If you're using midi, as opposed to RealTracks,
perhaps there is a global tuning option in
your soundcard/sound-device.

I use all real tracks and real band. I guess I should have said in my post, its a very slight tuning
difference I notice. Maybe its just me

Just sounds like it could be a little sweeter somehow.

Maybe I can do some tweaking & see what I get ?

Did you try "Master Tuning" in the GM Menu? That may or may not work, depending on your sound card. Here it only works when I click the button that says "Sound note 'A'".

You can tweak the tuning in Band in a box by clickin on the tuning fork icon to bring up the tuner window.

I had the same problem with being out of tune,then I discovered much to my amazement,that I was so use to playing alone,and just doinf riff's and stuff like that,that I was just off fret markers alittle bit.It was a great learning lesson and now,I am more untop of my game.I thought I was in tune the whole time,but was always falling somewhat flat,when playing with BIAB.Thats my 2 cents worth..hope it helps somebody!!

Hi Andy, I have the 2011 BIAB Really like it. I use it mostly for making my back up rythum tracks in the studio.

I am dumpping the BIAB into my Nuendo4 program after rendering. i am getting a great sound and good performance.

I haven't noticed that tuner, man that's great. glad you brought that out. the main instruments for me that has been out of tune has been the fiddles.
