Copying phrases / measures (midi BASS track) ?

Post by Mitch Crane »

In the notation mode (or elsewhere ?) how can I copy a phrase, or a number of measures from my bass track (midi) to another point in the song ?

Go to "Edit", then "copy from to".
Try it on a throw away track a time or two to get used to it, but it works very well once you get the hang of it.

Check all of the available selections carefully.

Good Luck,

David, I tried that it copies the chords just great, but not the in-progress edited bass track...unless I'm overlooking an important check-box ?

It may be a check box that's been missed. There are several to choose from. I've never tried it on a particular bass line that I've written, but it does work on solo parts that I've written.

Also works on styles that I've modified the bass line in and saved under a new style name.

Maybe someone else has had your exact experience and will chime in.

Good Luck,

Hi Mitch,

I rarely do that kind of thing from BIAB, but usually from RealBand. When I do I use the piano roll for the selected track.
