Fred, Thank you so much for posting this info. I talked to Joni last night & let her know my situation w/my mom, so I can't make it to the funeral. I know this is hard for you but know that we'll all meet again. I continue to pray for yours & Moons family through these times. I know it was an honor to Moon to be Blessed w/your friendship. If you need me, please call. Love To you all, Robby

John, thank you so much for posting the Times Obituary, I am going to save that. Would you believe I got to see that old guitar he built. He was showing it to me when he was with Wynn Stewart. It looked like coat hangers he usd for the pedal rods. I feel so lucky that I got to know him for so long. And Fred, you being a close friend like you were, you SURE knew what a special friend he can be. I, (we all) will miss him so much. God Bless, Ralph, his family and all of you. db

Fred,

Thank you so much for keeping us informed during this recent time about Moon, my thoughts have been with him, his family, and close friends, including you. I was lucky to get to meet Moon in St. Louis back a number of years ago. The time spent visiting with him, hearing road stories, and hearing him play there and in Dallas many times, I will always cherish among the most special of times in my life!

Fred, it was good to visit with you in Dallas earlier this month. On my radio show today in Austin, I featured twelve Ralph Mooney songs in a tribute I did to Moon.

Hope to see you soon,

Well, I just got back from the service. Needless to say, even though I am a minister and have had to handle a lot of funerals, I still hate to have to go to one. However, this was one of the nicest ones I have ever been to. Pastor Moody did a trememdous job. It was a real tribute to the musician and the person. Obviously, Moon excelled at both, a great musician and a great person. I will surely miss him, a real friend. It was good to see Ronnie and Ginger Miller there, as well.

It was a really nice service. The minister told a few really nice stories, as well as read a letter Marty Stuart wrote to him after Moon died. He and Connie were out on their back porch looking at the Super Moon this weekend, how ironic. Joe Bielinski gave a nice eulogy...... Rest in Peace Moon

So sad. He was my favorite. I didn't find out until today.
