Here's a short clip, once through the melody. E9 tuning. Just two pedals and two knee levers for this arrangement.

Sounds excellent Doug. I wish that I could get a tone that sustains like that, I use a reverb unit,a Boss RV5. Maybe you can answer a question for me...is it the digital delay that gives a sound that sustains?

Thanks John, I'm using the Boss DD-6 delay that's shown in the picture above. No reverb, no amp. Here's the chain I used to record this clip:

pedal steel---> Black Box (tube filter)---> Goodrich volume pedal---> Delay---> into computer.

The DD-6 has a tap function which makes it very easy to sync the repeats to the track. Just start the track and stomp three times on the pedal to match the delay time to the track. Delay really fattens the sound for the slow stuff. Thanks again.

Doug : A job well done on your little S-10 Emmons; I love it; I always enjoy your renditions of these oldies; whether it's pedal or " Lap " Steel. I agree with John on your sustaining effect you bring out; These Boss units do an excellent performance;with the help of someone with the expertise of using them. Doug.......I've said it before....and I take great pleasure in repeating myself once again for all the world to hear. On this most recent solo the tone you produced is indescribable! I cannot find the words to adequately convey my amazement and
total appreciation for what you've played here.

Some may be unable to comprehend what it is I'm so impressed about......but for those folks, if they are sincere students of steel guitar, they should strive to one day be able to produce the truly wonderful sounds you've demonstrated in this latest tune.

It's such a pure joy to get to hear you play. Please keep sharing with your friends here on the SGF.
