Johnny Duncan w/ Weldon Myrick

Post by Peter Freiberger »

Some hot Weldon Myrick playing on this Johnny Duncan cut, similar to his great work on the early '70's Johnny Bush records.

Johnny Duncan's "There's Something About A Lady" (Columbia 45 RPM 45319) Debut: 3/13/71. Peaked at #19 w/ 13 weeks on the charts.

I'd like to find the LP that was on. Is the rest as good?

Great song indeed and Weldon Myrick shines all the way through.

Johnny Duncan was one of my favorites during his rather short career.
To me, he had a voice reminiscent of the late Jim Reeves, with his richness of tone and ease with which he sang.
I did not realize he passed away at age 67.

This one was always my favorite, despite its very sparse steel guitar
