Problem with Burning to CD

I made an Audio Track of Heart Of A Clown from a BIAB Midi file. Imported the tracks into Sonar 8.5, mixed and exported as a wav. file. When I tried to burn it to a CD using Nero I get a message the wma file is write protected and copywrited. How can this be when it all started from an Internet Midi file. I tried using DpPowerAmp converter as I have done so many times before, to convert the file with no luck from it either. I tried exporting from sonar 8.5 to an mp3 with no luck either. Do you have to purchase a seperate codec to do that....Any info or suggestions appreciated.....Thanks Eddie

When you export with Sonar, you need to set the channel rate (44100), Bit Depth - 16, channel format Stereo. And make sure the Files of type is set to wave.

I just tried it with my Sonar 8.5 Producer and a two channel audio master. Played OK with Windows Media Player and GoldWave.

Since that was a BIAB MIDI file that could be the problem. If you have BIAB, export the song as a wav directly and you won't have to use Sonar.

Thanks for the reply. The file was exported from Sonar at a channel rate of 44100, set to stereo and designated as a Wav. file.

The file was an audio file before I Imported into Sonar. I didn't import it as a midi file into Sonar. I've heard that you can do that, but I'm unclear as to the way to do that.

What's so puzzling is, this is the way that I've done numerous files before, with no problems.

The file plays fine on Windows Media Player, but just cant burn it to CD. Eddie

Was it exported as 16 bit? That is the CD "standard". If it was a 24 bit that could be a problem. I don't see where it would be "copy protected" since you imported it into Sonar and then exported it. I've done recordings for singers using karaoke tracks and don't have any problems importing the karaoke tracks and then the singer adding the vocals on a separate track and then I mixdown and finally export as a 16 bit stereo wav file.

Jack, You Fixed Another One.

I went back and rechecked the setting and it was set on 32 Bit Instead of 16Bit. I thought sure I checked it earlier to be 16. These Senior Moments are coming way too frequent.
