Yeah. Kenny deserved a much higher profile for his swinging vocals and great songwriting.

Quite coincidentally, last week some Dylan came up on my mp3 player and I was listening to the second guitar on some Bringing It All Back Home songs---I hadn't listened closely in many years, if at all--and wondering who it was. I looked it up and it was Rankin. I think? A lot of playing throughout, tasteful and almost invisible unless you were to take it out and then you'd notice how much it contributes. Songs like Baby Blue, Tambourine Man.
Can anyone verify for me that it was indeed him doing the fills and ornamentation?
The next day I was reading his obit.
edit------my apologies---I just read the linked obit and it does mention this record.

I knew he had steel in one of his songs:

Well, in the article, either his birthday is wrong or his age is wrong. If he was born in 1940, then he should be 72 years old, else he was born in 1943 then the 69 is correct. Maybe this seems trivial but the least they could do was make sure it was correct out of respect for the man and his accomplishments.
My two cents...
