If my memory serves me correctly they are actually .250" in diameter and 5/16" (.313") long w 8-32 threads with a hole to accommodate a .125" rod (I drill em out to .140" so I don't have to mess with them). Purchase as stand offs for the most common usage which was in the pre-2000 MSA's. Those that I've found that are 3/8" long are less expensive but are wider than typical string spacing which theoretically can cause a problem (I ran into it w a custom build years ago).
