It was a proud moment several years ago at the Oklahoma Show when my friend Ralph Mooney said "I want to introduce you to a friend of mine". At that he introduced me to Bud. I hung around them for a while after that and what a fun time that was, listening to them talk of old times. Together they were hilarious. What great memories.

Bud appeared at the door and said, "where is that Bigsby"?

If Bud had not done that intro on "Slowly", I would not have gotten into pedal steel. Like so many of us, I will always be grateful.

Love to Geri

I had the pleasure of assisting Bud for setup of his steel and amp many times at the SWSGA show in Phoenix. He was always gracious and appreciative. We will surely miss his presence in this life. May God grant eternal rest to his soul.

Truly a great loss to the steel community. A true pioneer of the instrument, we love and play. Though our paths have never crossed. I have heard you play, on the recordings with Webb Pierce. You will be missed.

From the photos, Bud appears to have been quite a character and flashy dresser to go along with his steel guitar music.

When I started out playing steel using the Winston-Keith book, BUD'S BOUNCE was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for my wife's view of my incessant attempts to play the tune.

Thanks for the music, Bud!!!!! Stevet

Geri asked me to say thanks to all of you for your comments. She doesn't have internet access at this time. I printed out all of the comments and mailed them to her and she enjoyed them immensely and again wants to thank all of you....rj
