Jerry, I just noticed your question about the name Jack Nance on the drumhead.

Jack Nance was the co-writer of Conway's first big hit, "It's Only Make Believe".

I know that none of this means much to anyone, but I just wanted to expose it to those who are too young to experience it, that Conway Twitty was a major star.

Gene , please let me respectfully disagree with you, all of this means very much. All to often history like this gets lost and so many inaccurate accounts evolve. We haven't answered the "Last call" yet, you got me by a few years but Karen and I just completed a 1200 mile vacation ride last week on our Gold Wing. Living life to the fullest as best we can.

I learned about Conway Twitty's existence in an interview I've read from my my favorite guitar player Jesse "Ed" Davis, in which he mentioned playing for him in the past.
Then I bought a few of his Decca albums.
What I find admirable about him, besides his singing, is that he said things that were normally avoided like: "My love for you is stronger (than the weakness in me)".

Conway was not just a major talent, (and my personal favorite country singer,) he was the only guy who ever looked good in one of the ridiculous 70s hair cuts.

Thank you Mike. Conway was not only a major talent, but he was a compassionate person doing good deeds for others.

When we were in Japan, Conway would often baby-sit our profoundly retarded daughter so we would have some temporary relief from care-giving, to do grocery shopping, or attend a movie.

......And even after Conway's initial success he often wrote us to inquire about our daughter Sherry.
