Hey thanks guys; and if anyone missed it> which was not hard..ha> I will have it in the "Music and Video" section at MightyFineMusic.com soonish.
It was so cool to do that spot; eventhough it's not in your face Steel guitar and music for that matter....just sets a theme to the No Driver Simi Truck outta control and the legendary Bill Mack doing the commentating and craching and explosions going on..the music is deffinately Background....ha.
But yes; being apart of the most prestigious Commercial spot in TV history...pays the bills...ha ...and was a hoot.

Ricky
Parts of that commercial has even been aired by cable TV here in Sweden by a british operator (CNBC?). However the reporter and the studio woman talked all the time about the super bowl and the spectacular video pics, so no music was heared - so now I really look forward to load it down from your viedo corner at your home site.
BTW: that Opry video at your home page is great! And I could swear you played C6 on the first song ´til I saw you pick the E9. (Do you have new fretboards on the Sho-Bud, or are hey originally white?)
Also please give Dale an appreciating clap on the shoulder from all of us here in the old world! You are all extremely welcome if you ever get back here again!

Ricky,

Can you get a copy WITHOUT the truck noises and the other overdubs (Adman's voice over, etc.!) I want to really hear what you did...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Real nice steelin'!!!
I'd imagine Monster.com will keep airing
that commercial for awhile, right?
They did have it on twice last night,
at 7:20 (eastern time) and then during the
post game show.

I taped the game to catch the commercial, so I got to play it back a number of times and really listen to it closely. I could even set my VCR to play back only the right channel of the sound, which is where they mixed Ricky's steel. Sounded great! Congratulations, Ricky.

But next time I hear that opening lick, I'm gonna start looking around for careening semi trucks.... (Whoever did the stunt driving in that commercial did some amazing work.)

Thanks Jay and Bill L...for the kind words and yes I'm hoping they play it alot..as this commercial pays royalties directly to ME....yeee haaa> everytime it plays.

BTW we picked up USA Today on Monday and the ad ranked 23 of 55 in their survay of comercials.

As for the crew at Ginnys the funny part was halftime when Dale joked about Cornell Hurd being there when Shania came on(The Country Music's Worst Nightmare reference)

Congratulations, Ricky. You'll have to go a long way to top the audience you reached on this one.
I believe adcritic.com has all the Super Bowl ads. Unfortunately, they're no longer a free site, but if you know anyone who's a subscriber . . .

Yah, the commercial is pretty realistic. One of our drivers took out 16 cows in one night (they were all standing together) on a dark two-lane highway. We also had someone who let some young "hot" girl that he was hitting on drive his truck. She drove it through a C-store into the dairy cooler. Another driver took out a gas meter that resulted in several city blocks being shut down. Although he was chain smoker, he was between cigs at the time of the accident.
