Steve--I know you've been "Where I Come From". I met you at the Chautauqua Institution for the Randy Travis Concert.
We are just down home people and love our
country music and steel guitar--AND we are
from the North--can you beat that! Too cold
up here for any snakes--don't like them
anyway!! To show my northern hospitality--
Go Tennessee Titans all the way!!! Joe

Steve H., I'm reading a book right now called "Confederates in the Attic - Dispatches from the Unfinished Civil War", and I'm wondering if, by the end of it, you're going to show up as one of the characters. hehe... jus' teasing now, put that snake down...
The real reason for my post is, I thought this might interest you. http://www.bookmagazine.com/issue19/jsullivan.shtml
Sorry for the topic drift.

Hi John...I have that book!Got it when it first came out... I'm not in there-but I could have been,I guess...Hi Joe...I don't care about the Titans, but I like you!I was one of the people around here who thought Nashville was unique enough because of country music...nice to hear from both of you!By the way, John...I have the Tosches book too...he's one of my favorites. If you haven't read his book about Dean Martin, get it now...it's great!

Dave Van Allen. I had a bottle opener with a cigerette lighter in it given to me last week. Didn't have to buy anything.

Sorry, Perry, I don't want any Nort' Dakota teeth. Might have lutefisk stuck in 'em. But thanks anyway. Wanna meet my cousin?

I'm confused... Is this thread about Steel guitar, bottle openers, good beer, false teeth or something else? No matter, you guys are cracking me up. Image

Andy's right- there are sure steel lovers everywhere. On one of my DOD tours we played a little town in spain and one of the local Gendarmerie was there, fancy uniform, epaulets, gold braid, cool sideways hat! He stood right next to me for the whole show, just grinning and nodding, obviously fascinated with the steel. At the end of the show some of the folks brought us up some bottled beer and the cop reached in his pocket and produced a bottle opener with a cowboy hat on it- so there you go...
