Both the volume pedals and volume pedals were sand castings. We had them black anodized, then ground off the anodize on the treads with a belt sander. BTW, it's D-E-K-L-E-Y. Image

I've got a old DEKLEY pedal and I would never guess it was sand cast. Just shows how old and stupid I'm getting. I have a collection of volume pedals, and I like to look at their constructin and design. The diamond raised design on the top of the DEKLEY eliminated the need for a rubber cover, which is an interesting idea. I would guess the old DeArmond pedals were die cast.
