Hi Kenny, are you going to give the Carvin GT-12 speaker a chance or have you already decided to replace it with a 12 in. B/W speaker? If possible you should do an A/B test to see how they perform side by side.

Hi Roger, I'm going to go with the Carvin GT-12 speaker. After reading the specs on their speakers,it may just be the way to go. Especially with the edge wound copper voice coil. Image

I really like this SX-100 amp from Carvin. Good clean, warm tone.Along with the Hilton volume pedal, it's a great team. Both did well yesterday. Thanks to Barry Wheeler for having one of these great amps for us to hear. It's a keeper. Image

Kenny, on the "Smart Effects" can you run reverb and delay simultaneously or only one at a time?? How do you like the reverb sound?

Hi George, You can only run one effect at a time. I used my Boss RV-3. I haven't had time yet to really sit down and go thru everything on this great little amp. It arrived Saturday morning, and I took it to Dayton,Ohio and played it Sunday. We're going to be moving next weekend, and I'll have plenty of room to set up then. But I'll post the results I come up with on the smart effects. The GT-12 speaker sounds really great too. I'm still curious as to how a Black Widow,or a JBL E-120 would sound.

Hi George, I have the older version of the SX-100, my manual states "Chorus,Echo and Flange are mixed with Plate reverb". I normally use a couple of the echo(delay)settings, and they do have a nice mix of reverb. If you just want reverb, there are some really nice ones to choose from as well.

<SMALL>Their model SX300R is a 3 channel pre-amp. I wonder if anybody has ever tried running 3 channels before. In theory, you could set one channel for bass, one for mids, and one for treble, although this might not work so hot in real life.</SMALL>
I don't believe you can run 3 channels at the same time, you can select only one at a time. Most multi channel amps these days have footswitch control and it switches between Channels, one set up for distortion, One for Overdrive and one set for Clean is usually the way they are used.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by John Floyd on 19 June 2004 at 05:15 AM.]</p></FONT>

One channel at a time.Although,I've seen other amps that you could combine channels.
