I have been using the Kemper player pedal for about 6 months with a Fender fr-10 speaker and love the combo. The pedal unit is great because you get all the profiles and effects in a very portable package. It throws to FOH via XLR and sounds awesome through the PA. I use a fender twin profile mostly and it’s very true to an actual twin tone. An additional benefit of the Kemper is the expression pedal input - I sold my Hilton and Goodrich pedals in favour of a mission engineering expression pedal that is designed specifically for Kempers. This allows me to quickly change the location of the pedal in the chain (input, post effects, post stack) or alternatively, change its function to a wah pedal which I like for rock and psych stuff. After experimenting with several FRFR speakers I settled on the Fender fr-10 because it has great punch and sounds like a real amp. For gigs I usually use IEMs connected to a little Behringer p2 unit - I get a line out from the mixing board which plugs into the Behringer. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this lightweight and portable set up. Would strongly recommend the Kemper.

Can't wait to see reviews of the new 2.0 profiling and see if if it's worth the hype!

The Monitor board runs an XLR line to your IEM receiver, usually in a rack close to where you are sitting. I use the Sennheiser XSW. Then, the receiver has a body pack that is wireless to the IEM receiver. The ear buds plug into the body pack. You control the various instruments in the monitor mix via iPhone/iPad device. You connect to the mixer via wifi and have an exclusive connection to the board. This way, you can control what you want to hear.

This is an example of what a personal monitor mix looks like on an iPad. You can add reverb or compression, etc. It gets way complicated beyond this simple set up. When you use an IEM rig, there are typically no speakers on stage. This is where the non-powered Kemper, Sesh 400, etc shine. You don't need a power amp or a speaker.

Your Kemper is sending a direct line XLR to the main mixer. You are getting the monitor mix of that. Each person in the band using a monitor (or IEM)has their own monitor bus (channel). The one the monitor mix is sending you corresponds to the monitor channel you are on the main board.

Is that iPad software for the mixer?

When you get it figured out .. show me. Ha.
Actually, I have a great handle in it for different situations... stage, studio. It is far superior to anything out there. Seriously, the various configurations for just configuring the output routes.. Amazing and extremely useful. If anyone doesn't believe that... you probably haven't spent any real time with one and in situations where you had to put it through the paces. Crazy useful.

You sent 2 performance files that seem identical? "KEEP" and "SCC"?

They may be slightly different. "SCC" are the initials of the 90's Country Tribute band I play in "Stone Cold Cowboys".
