Ken: I believe that story relates to the time when Albert got an advance from A&M Records for his debut 'solo' album.

When he took the first mixes in to the Company for their approval a while later there was much head-scratching and the dawning realisation that there'd been a misunderstanding of some sort...

'Alvin'/'Albert' - both English - I suppose you can see how it might happen. Of course, by that time Albert already had a track-record and a big reputation - his time with Heads, Hands & Feet saw to that - so he was hardly an 'unknown'.
Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I know, Roger...it just (in my mind) fits into the story line of how I see these things as an outsider, a byline if you will...how people came to be, and subsequently moved on, from the Hot Band.

HHF is still one of my favorites, if that matters. Like most of the things done by all the players involved by folks anywhere near the Hot Band, feats of musical muscle and finesse all at the same time.

Back to lurking as an underarm slinger

There's some old Blues stuff by Tony Colton and Albert Lee, there he does indeed sound very similar to Alvin Lee.
